Skilled Worker Sponsorship
Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for an eligible candidate.
Where sponsorship is required, the appointment and Certificate of Sponsorship will only be made where the role, occupation code, candidate circumstances and guaranteed basic salary satisfy the Home Office requirements applicable at the time.
Within the advertised range, sponsored appointments would ordinarily need to be towards the upper part of the range and are expected to be at least £33,400-£35,600 where the applicable immigration rules permit that salary. If the statutory minimum or occupation-specific going rate is higher, the required compliant salary will take precedence.
Sponsorship does not guarantee that the Home Office will grant a visa.
Role Purpose
The Education Consultant will provide student-centred guidance to international applicants considering overseas study.
The consultant will assess each student's academic profile, budget, preferred destination and career objectives before recommending appropriate institutions and programmes.
This is a consultative role rather than simply an application-sales position. Recommendations must be suitable for the student and supported by accurate information.

- Conduct structured one-to-one consultations with prospective students and, where appropriate, their families.
- Evaluate academic history, qualifications, English-language results, finances, career ambitions and destination preferences.
- Recommend suitable countries, universities and programmes.
- Explain entry requirements, intakes, application processes, tuition fees and expected study costs.
- Develop individual application strategies and timelines.
- Guide students in preparing strong and accurate applications.
- Coordinate with Admissions Liaison Officers regarding submissions and offers.
- Assist students with personal statements and application documentation while ensuring the final submission accurately reflects the student's circumstances and work.
- Identify scholarships, bursaries and legitimate funding opportunities.
- Explain publicly available visa-process information and document requirements.
- Do not provide regulated immigration advice unless personally authorised to do so under the applicable UK regulatory regime.
- Refer regulated or complex immigration matters to an appropriately authorised adviser.
- Support pre-departure planning including accommodation, travel, banking and arrival preparation.
- Maintain regular communication from initial consultation through enrolment.
- Keep complete and accurate CRM notes.
- Follow up student enquiries professionally without using misleading, coercive or high-pressure sales techniques.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of admissions requirements and international education developments.
- Participate in webinars, seminars, fairs and student-information events.
- Collect student feedback and support post-arrival service where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or comparable professional qualification/experience.
- Strong knowledge of international higher education.
- Excellent advisory, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret academic documents and university entry requirements.
- Strong ethical judgement.
- Accurate case-management and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work sensitively with students and families from different cultural backgrounds.
Desirable
- International student recruitment or counselling experience.
- British Council UK agent/counsellor training.
- Knowledge of more than one major international study destination.
- Additional languages.
Important Professional Boundary
This position does not automatically authorise the employee to provide regulated UK immigration advice. Any employee undertaking regulated immigration work must have the appropriate authorisation and remain within the permitted scope of that authorisation.
