Role Purpose

The Student Advisor will be one of the principal day-to-day contacts for students using Eklingji Limited's services.

The role focuses on communication, student experience, case progression and ensuring that applicants understand what they need to do at each stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to student enquiries by telephone, email, messaging applications and scheduled meetings.
  • Conduct initial information-gathering calls.
  • Record student academic, financial and destination preferences accurately in the CRM.
  • Schedule consultations with Education Consultants.
  • Explain Eklingji's application process and expected timelines.
  • Follow up outstanding student documentation.
  • Keep students informed about application status.
  • Coordinate adviser appointments and application deadlines.
  • Assist with university portal administration.
  • Support offer acceptance and enrolment administration.
  • Share approved information concerning scholarships, accommodation, travel and settlement.
  • Assist with pre-departure briefings.
  • Coordinate post-arrival welfare check-ins during the student's initial settlement period.
  • Escalate academic, financial, immigration, safeguarding or complaint issues to the appropriate senior colleague.
  • Maintain confidential student records.
  • Gather student feedback and testimonials only with appropriate consent.
  • Ensure communications remain accurate and do not guarantee admissions, scholarships, visas or employment outcomes.
  • Support events, webinars and student information sessions.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent customer-service skills.
  • Professional written and spoken English.
  • Strong organisation and follow-up ability.
  • Confidence communicating with international students.
  • High level of empathy and professionalism.
  • Good digital literacy.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records.

Desirable

Experience in education, student services, admissions, customer success or international recruitment.

Employment at Eklingji

Working hours
Normally 37.5 hours per week. Any additional hours must comply with applicable Working Time Regulations and company policy.
Annual leave
At least the statutory paid annual-leave entitlement applicable to the employee. Company contractual benefits may provide a higher entitlement.
Pay
Salaries shown are gross annual basic salaries. Eklingji Limited will ensure pay does not fall below the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.
Right to work
Employment is conditional on the company completing all legally required right-to-work checks.
Visa sponsorship
Sponsorship applies only to roles expressly identified as eligible and only where the employee, occupation, salary and vacancy meet the immigration requirements in force when the Certificate of Sponsorship is assigned.
Immigration advice
Employees must not provide regulated immigration advice or services unless appropriately authorised to do so. Non-authorised staff must refer regulated cases to an authorised adviser.
Data protection
Employees must process student, applicant, employee and partner information securely, confidentially and in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and company policies.
Ethical student recruitment
Staff must provide accurate and transparent information. Employees must never guarantee admission, scholarships, visa approval, post-study employment or permanent residency.
Conflicts of interest
Commercial commissions or institutional relationships must not override the obligation to recommend suitable education options to students.

Safeguarding
Any safeguarding concern involving a student or vulnerable person must be escalated promptly under company procedures.

Employees may have role-specific performance targets, but targets must not encourage unethical recruitment, inaccurate advice or inappropriate pressure on prospective students.
